Why

Millions of people gain a vocational qualification every year as a stepping stone to further vocational study or university, better jobs and enhanced skills.  For too long, this success has gone without the recognition and national celebration it deserves. VQ Day has been launched to raise the profile of vocational qualifications and celebrate vocational success.

When

23rd July 2008 is the first ever VQ Day – a celebration of the people who gain vocational qualifications every year, and those who help them achieve this success.

How

We're trying to make VQ day a success across the country and we want you to join in the celebrations. There are lots of way you can get involved. For example, VQ holders past and present can sign up to the Roll Call of vocational success. Or you can vote for your celebrity VQ Hero – someone who has done wonders in their field through the power of vocational and on-the-job learning.

Across the country, we’re giving learning providers the tools they need to make the most of their day of celebration. Our downloadable Action Packs will help get the attention of the local media and spread the message that vocational learning is worth shouting about.

Nomination Criteria can be accessed here. Further information is available from the VQ day website.
