New accreditation for local training company
24 April 2008

Mycourse Training in Elgin who specialise in distance and home learning courses in book-keeping and finance have recently been awarded accreditation with the Institute of Certified Book-keepers (ICB).
Sharon Chambers, director at Mycourse says
“This is great news for our centre and opens up a much more flexible route for our students to achieve certification with the largest book-keeping organisation in the world. We have already enrolled a higher number of students than we normally would at this time of year.”
The provision consists of three courses available for home study:
ICB Level I Certificate in Basic Book-keeping which is the first level of the qualifications.  Students following this course are now able to sit examinations in their own home or learning centre avoiding the need to travel, which for those students in the Highlands and Islands is a bonus.
Once students have completed Level I they can choose to study the manual book-keeping route with the ICB Level II Certificate in Manual Book-keeping which is a closed book examination held in an ICB centre near to the student’s home.
Alternatively students can progress from ICB Level I to the ICB Certificate in Computerised Book-keeping which is again examined at home.  We use sage software, one of the market leaders in accountancy and book-keeping software to deliver the course.
Anyone wishing to further their career in book-keeping will find these courses an excellent route to gaining qualifications.  The flexibility of the study, combined with examinations at home would suit many of the learners in the Highlands and Islands.
