You are invited to participate on-line in the Highlands and Islands Learning Centre Network’s annual conference on Friday, 15th February 2008 starting at 12.15pm.

The key speaker will be Fiona Hyslop, MSP, Cabinet Secretary for Education and Lifelong Learning, who will be addressing the topic of “The role of learning centres in the delivery of the new Scottish Skills Strategy”. Our other key speaker is Damien Yeates, the chief executive of learndirect scotland.

This event will be taking place in hundreds of locations across Scotland. In fact, wherever there is a computer connected to the internet by a broadband connection you will be able to participate in the conference which will be delivered via Learningworks HIE's online skills advisory service.

To register your interest to participate simply go to www.hie.co.uk/learningworks/learn-centre-zone.html and click on the link to the Conference Registration and Sign In page. The first time you do this please select the Registration option.

Once you have submitted your registration details you will be taken to a web page containing a test video stream. Please ensure you can view this stream – software downloads to assist will be available. If you cannot access the stream please contact your system administrator for assistance. We will be unable to support access problems the day before and on the day of the Conference.

On the 15th all you need to do is go to the same web address as above (www.hie.co.uk/learningworks/learn-centre-zone.html) and again select the same link as before, only this time, instead of registering, simply Sign-In to view the event.
