Whisky festival scoops up top award

The Spirit of Speyside Whisky Festival has been honoured for making Moray a more attractive tourist destination.

For the festival has scooped the Moray Tourism Initiative plaudit in the Northern Lights Tourism Awards. Sponsored by Moray Council, the prize is awarded to the community or business group that has most actively contributed to attracting visitors to the area, helped develop the tourism industry and improved visitor experience.

Meanwhile, the Innovation award, sponsored by Highlands and Islands Enterprise Moray, went to the RSPB's Troup Head live camera link. This award recognises different tourism projects that have an impact on an area's product
