How to make Scotland a more attractive stopping off point for cruise ships is the theme next week for a tourism industry workshop in Inverness.

The goal of the workshop on November 28 at the Thistle Hotel will be to draw up an agenda for maximising the performance and prospects of the Scottish cruise sector. To this end, the workshop will be tasked with:

· identifying opportunities for growth and constraints on performance

· identifying key challenges and priorities for action, including

- what do the ports and their industry partners need to do to raise their game?

- how can the ports work together more effectively to make Scotland more attractive to passengers and operators?

- how can the public sector help?

· and reaching agreement on the next steps

Speaking at the event will be Peter Wild, Director, G P Wild (International) Ltd; Tracy Norris, Director, Excursions Ltd; and Tim Moore, Tours Manager, Fred Olsen Cruise Lines.
