‘Going ballistic – skills required for dramatic business growth’ is the seasonal theme of the latest virtual conference being staged by Highlands and Islands Enterprise through LearningWorks on November 8.
David Hall, the well-known TV presenter and entrepreneur, will be hosting the online event that follows up on the success of the first LearningWorks Virtual Conference in April.
Participation is free, the only requirements being registration and a fast internet connection. The conference commences at 12.30pm on Thursday, November 8. Once registered, simply log-in at the start time on the day and watch, listen and ask questions using your own email programme. Registering promptly for the event though will enable participants to post questions before the conference, view the speaker’s profile and suggest topics for future events.
In addition to the virtual conference, there is also access to first hand accounts of how companies faced the challenges of changing their business model and which key skills were necessary to the successful outcome.
But don’t leave registration to the last minute as it is vital to check the connection you plan to use with a test application. The test will determine the speed of your connection to ensure there is sufficient bandwidth to view the video stream.
A connection speed of above 256kbps is needed to enjoy both the video and audio element of the virtual conference. Connections below 256kbps are not recommended, but it may still be possible to be involved from your local learning centre, details of which are on the LearningWorks web site.
In the event of being unable to attend or to access a high speed connection, call 01463 732510 to receive a copy of the presentation after the event via CD or DVD.
