Webcast to banish business blues

Webcast to banish business blues
21 April 2007

Business in the doldrums? Lost your entrepreneurial spark? If you are reading this, the cure is right under your nose.

For coming to a computer near you on Monday (April 23) is a web conference on skills to reinvent and revitalise your business.

Former Entrepreneur of the Year and writer/presenter of the BBC TV business series "Winning", David Hall will be revealing how businesses can use autonomy, risk-taking and breaking the ‘rules’ for the benefit of a company's bottom line. The free virtual conference for businesses throughout the Highlands and Islands will be hosted by HIE chair, William Roe.

David Hall will discuss the golden rules of success, which can be used by companies of any size in any sector. Discover how techniques such as developing a compelling vision, investing in your company’s team and creating superior opportunities can make the difference to your business.

During the conference, the BBC expert will explore a six-step approach to successful business growth that entrepreneurs in the Highlands and Islands can use to full effect to revamp a business.

Learn how to:
• get the right people on board
• develop a compelling vision
• get in shape
• create superior opportunities
• invest in your team
• enjoy success

The virtual conference has been developed specifically for companies in the Highlands and Islands and is the first in a series over the coming months.

As with any normal conference, local business people will have the opportunity to ask questions, but without the inconvenience of travelling what could for many people have been significant distances to the event. The conference is also planned over lunch time so participants need not be away from their business during the main part of the working day.

The webcast is free of charge for all organisations in the region and you can sign up by going to http://www.hie.co.uk/learningworks/virtual-conference.html and registering your interest. Guests log in from 12.15 pm for the 12.30 – 1.30 pm online session on Monday.
