14 March 2007
The prestigious three-day Celtic Media Festival 2007 on March 28 - 30 is the premier celebration of broadcasting, film talent and excellence from Scotland, Ireland, Wales, Cornwall and Brittany. The Celtic Media Festival's aim is to promote the languages and cultures of the Celtic countries on screen and in broadcasting. Its primary activity is organising the Celtic Media Festival. While the event itself will be a welcome boost to tourism operators on Skye, there is the possibility too of further spin-off benefits being generated by the festival with so many delegates networking in the stunning scenery of Skye. A packed programme of sessions, premieres, events, keynotes, screenings in the RBS Screen Machine, a Future Creatives student strand, plus awards and parties has been lined up. To see the latest news on the festival and the programme, visit the festival website at www.celticmediafestival.co.uk The festival is also keen to reduce its carbon footprint and so is offering to broker car sharing for delegates wishing to be environmentally-friendly. Delegates wishing to participate in car sharing are asked to send their name, the days they wish to travel, their departure city/area and a contact telephone number to katy@celticmediafestival.co.uk who will co-ordinate the pooling of resources. * Celtic Media Festival, Skye 2007 is supported by Highland 2007, The Events Company, Highland Council, HIE Skye and Wester Ross, Seirbheis nam Meadhanan Gaidhlig, Býrd na Gýidhlig, Scottish Screen, the National Lottery and BBC Scotland. | |
