Sandy Cumming, chief executive of Highlands and Islands Enterprise (HIE) has responded to today's announcement [Sunday 4 February 2007] by First Minister Jack McConnell, of additional Scottish Executive funding for business parks.

Mr Cumming said: "We are delighted that the Executive has agreed to make additional funds available for investment in the Highlands and Islands. It will enable us to accelerate some important developments which we would have had to wait for at least a year to make without this significant capital injection."
