HI-energy video premiers on the web

HIE's renewable energy team has produced an online video to highlight the renewable energy projects currently active across the Highlands and Islands.

Available in two versions, the three-minute video gives an upbeat and quick snapshot, while the 12-minute version includes brief interviews to provide a more in-depth view of the region's resources, skills and capabilities.

The videos include all renewables technologies and feature the pioneering European Marine Energy Centre in Orkney, the Glendoe hydro-electricity scheme near Loch Ness, a host of community-led wind developments and much more.

Thanks to the possession of abundant and diverse natural resources, the Highlands and Islands of Scotland is the ideal location for both small and large-scale renewable energy developments. The renewables sector is currently going through a large growth phase in its lifecycle and the HI-energy video has been developed to emphasise and support this.
