IE7 on the way…

Look out soon for a larger than normal download via Windows Updates as Internet Explorer 7 is on its way to a PC near you. Unless you’re an early adopter and downloaded the beta version last month.

The new version weighs in at 14.8MB. Interestingly, though, IE7 does not include the ability to display a web page as if it were IE6. The outcome, then, is a number of sites will start to look a bit odd unless they’re immediately updated to be IE7 compatible.

It’s being predicted in some quarters that many people may now decide it’s time to download Mozilla Firefox as you can’t run IE6 and IE7 on the same machine.
