| 03 November 2006 On Friday 27th of October, ten local businesses were toasted for their success and celebrated the contribution they have made to the Lochaber economy at a black tie celebration dinner and charity auction at the Alexandra Hotel. Organised by Lochaber Enterprise, and attended by approximately 140 guests the event aimed to motivate and stimulate local businesses to succeed. The evening was also supported by local businesses that either sponsored parts of the event or donated items for the charity auction. Dougie Vipond, BBC Presenter was the compère for the evening. Guests include individuals from across Lochaber’s business community. The formal dinner was concluded with an after dinner speech by guest speaker John Simonett. The dinner itself was produced by John Brown and his team at the Alexandra Hotel and was sourced from local food producers within a 50 mile radius. Compliments for the quality of the food and service provided were received throughout the night. Charlotte Wright, chief executive of Lochaber Enterprise said "The evening was a great opportunity to showcase the remarkable achievements of 10 Lochaber based individuals and organisations and the valuable contribution they have made to the area.
