Careers Scotland exam results helpline - opens 8 August
07 August 2006

‘What did you get, then?’ will be the question for thousands of Scottish young people on the morning of 8th August when Standard and Higher Grade results are due to arrive.

For some, exam results will mean confirming their college or career plans; for others, unexpected results – positive or negative – may mean a sudden re-think.

However, help is only a phone call away. Anyone who needs advice before deciding on their next step is encouraged to contact:

Freephone Careers Scotland exam results helpline - 0808 100 8000

Careers Scotland staff – including a number from the Highlands and Islands area – will offer professional and impartial advice.  They will also have the latest information on UCAS vacancies at colleges and universities across the UK.

Lines are open from 8am – 8pm on Tuesday 8 and Wednesday 9 August and from 10am – 6pm Thursday 10 – Friday 25 August including weekends.

Advice is not limited to university or college applications. Advisers can also offer links to a range of opportunities in the world of work, training and advice and on other learning options or on taking a year out.

Our final words of advice are ‘Stay calm – there is always a solution'.

Advisers will help you plan your career in the new situation - and discuss the options with you - so that you can make an informed choice that is right for you.
