Our very last weather report

Our very last weather report
07 June 2006

A short blog from Sofie Runge of Careers Scotland. Sofie has been translating our Greenland weather forecasts from Danish into English for us.

A big congratulation to the team for making it across the ice

What an adventure it must have been. I have been happy to be able to help with weather translations (not often that Danish is a useful language abroad!)

I thought I would just pass on a final forecast for Kangerlussuaq as the team leaves Greenland.

Unfortunately it will not be a clear sunny bright day (as it is in Inverness just now – A rare experience these days!) but the sun might be peaking through the clouds on occasions.

There will be no rain or snow falling and the temperature measured at 7 this morning was 5.2C, expecting to reach a maximum of 9.9 later today.

When they arrive in Reykjavik, the team should expect south-westerly winds and light rain. Temperature will be around 10C.

Have a safe journey home team, it will be great to hear all about your journey, the dangers, the challenges, the smells, the gnome and everything else you have to tell us about it.

Can’t wait to see the pictures!
