Making migration work for Scotland
08 May 2006

In February/March 2006, Scottish Council Development and Industry (SCDI) organised a series of four events in partnership with the Scottish Executive which updated members on the Fresh Talent Initiative including the support it can offer to businesses through its relocation advisory service.

SCDI is now working with the Fresh Talent team to organise a further three seminars which will update businesses, education institutions and public service organisations on policy developments of the new managed migration system.

The seminars will focus on:

  • Outlining the current system for managed migration;
  • Detailing the new Home Office points-based system (announced 7 March 2006);
  • Offering companies the opportunity to discuss and feed back comments to senior officials.

You are invited to hear from representatives from the Home Office, Work Permits UK and the Scottish Executive who will give their perspectives of the current system and the new arrangements.
