Big Lottery Fund - Investing in Communities
03 May 2006

On 2 May 2006, the Big Lottery Fund launched 'Investing in Communities'. This makes £257 million available, over the next three years, for community groups across Scotland.

It signals a new era for the Big Lottery Fund in Scotland as it looks to become an investment funder making long-term changes rather than simply a short-term grant giver.

There are four cross-cutting areas of investment that aim to deliver the main outcomes the Big Lottery Fund wants to achieve. These areas are:

  • Growing Community Assets;
  • Life Transitions;
  • Dynamic Inclusive Communities;
  • Supporting 21st Century Life.

From 2 May 2006, groups can apply for funding between £10,000 and £1 million for projects lasting up to five years.
