| 24 February 2006 The Tourism Innovation Group (TIG) has created this event to help tourism organisations increase their levels of innovation and collaboration. Tourism Innovation Day will be inspirational; stimulating tourism operators to grow through best practice case studies and demonstrations of how to create new, innovative products, services and business models. Who should attend? Tourism business leaders, managers and employees: indeed, anyone who has - or needs - fresh ideas to reinvigorate their thinking and progress their area or organisation. What's on offer? High-impact international guest speakers will lead a diverse range of unique, exciting and innovative workshops. Terry Jones, founder of Travelocity.com will demonstrate how he has successfully used innovation to create leading edge tourism technologies. IDEO, 'the best innovation company in the world' – Tom Peters – will help create innovative ideas and solutions for your business. The best ideas will have the opportunity to ‘pitch' to the Tourism Innovation Day's ‘Dragon's Den', a panel of internationally renowned business people. Best practice, relevant case studies from tourism operators in Scotland, New Zealand and America will provide inspiration to add value to your business and area. Speakers include: Chip Conley, CEO Joie de Vivre Hospitality, San Francisco; and Clare McFarlane, Managing Director Aries Tours, Australia and Director of International Eco-Tourism Society, Washington DC. Free Transport from the HIE area! Highlands and Islands Enterprise is providing coaches to Tourism Innovation Day from various locations around the Highlands, according to need.
