| Equateq Ltd - statement from Western Isles Enterprise | |
| 18 January 2006 Donnie MacAulay, chief executive of Western Isles Enterprise, said: "We can confirm that Equateq Ltd, a sister company of Equazen, will take over the plant and equipment of the previous tenant at Breasclate, Biolitec Pharma. This is fantastic news as it will maintain this site as a pharmaceutical research base and important employer. "Equazen is already established and has a proven track record. Since Equazen was founded in 1999, the company has been successful in developing its markets for the sale of high-grade fatty acids, including "eye q", which is now the UK's leading supplement in the children's learning sector. The establishment of Equateq will enable Equazen to concentrate its own fatty acids and also offers significant potential for broadening Equazen's research strategy." | |
