Age business in the business age

| 18 January 2006 Legislation will outlaw age discrimination in employment and vocational training in October 2006. It will cover all employers, large and small, in private and public sectors. It will include every member of the workforce, young and old. This means employers will no longer be able to recruit, train, promote or retire people early on the basis of age, unless it can be objectively justified. Two very useful websites have been created to guide employers through the legislation. Age Posi+ive: Get your business in shape for age legislation with practical help and information. The Age Partnership Group: Be ready. This website gives you information on age issues, hard facts, legislation, top tips and useful contacts. Businesses of all shapes and sizes are already changing the way they work and reaping the benefits of a mixed age work force. Don't be left behind. Get ready now. | |
