| 31 October 2005 Minority ethnic businesses and representatives of minority ethnic groups are being invited to attend a seminar which will report the results of a key study into the extent and issues facing minority ethnic enterprises in Scotland. The seminar which is one of four Scotland-wide events is to be held at the Drumossie Hotel in Inverness on 16 November 2005. Undertaken by The Scottish Executive, Highlands and Islands Enterprise Trends and comparisons were also investigated including attitudes to management development, finance and those on seeking business advice and support. Diversification, innovation, ambition, crime, security, insurance and racism were other issues raised during the survey of minority ethnic businesses. Jim Mackay, senior development manager from HIE said: "The seminar will give anyone involved or interested in minority ethnic enterprise in the north of Scotland an opportunity to hear what the results of the report are. There will also be a chance to discuss the next steps for developing new and pre-existing policy in this area. "Participants will be encouraged to take part in the event by communicating and exchanging ideas on what they hear, as well as putting their own views, ideas and experiences forward." The seminar takes place from 11am-1pm on Wednesday 16th November 2005 at the Drumossie Hotel in Inverness. To book a free place, contact Jim Mackay on 01463 244337.
