| Design gurus sought - design for industry workshop | |
| 28 September 2005 Industrial design has been described as applied creativity; a creative industry in its own right, it is integral to everything from consumer goods to heavy manufacturing. IDEASFACTORY invites design aficionados from across the Highlands and Islands to 'Design in Industry', an AimHi / Horizon Scotland workshop looking at how contemporary design can contribute to some of our more traditional industries. There will be a case study session of successful design stories, and an exploration of how Highlands and Islands businesses might integrate design elements to enhance competitiveness. We will also look into the need for an advisory group for design across the entire HIE network area, to potentially act in conjunction with the proposed 2007 Inverness Design Festival. The event will take place on September 30 2005, from 1:30-4pm at Horizon Scotland, Forres. Attendance is free, but places are limited, so please book your places by emailing David Williams now.
