Final call for entries to the Dynamic Place awards 2005

There are just a few days left until the deadline for entries to the Dynamic Place awards 2005, the only awards in Scotland that recognise the country's leading design, innovation and regeneration projects.

Now in its fifth successful year, the Scotland-wide initiative showcases excellence in the design and implementation of projects which enhance the country's urban and rural environments. The awards are organised by Scottish Enterprise and supported by Highlands and Islands Enterprise, Communities Scotland and Scottish Natural Heritage.

The entry deadline is Friday, 26th August and the 2005 Dynamic Place competition has already attracted entries from as far north as the Shetland Islands to Jedburgh in the Scottish Borders.

"This year's submissions have maintained the very high standards set previously," said Paul Lewis, senior director of Competitive Place at Scottish Enterprise.

"There is so much hard work going on in Scotland that deserves recognition and I'm glad people have taken the time to put projects forward for consideration."

The awards will be presented in the categories of; Built Environment, Community Development and Connections, with the winners announced at a prestigious ceremony to be held in November at the Adventure Centre, Ratho, home of the National Rock Climbing Centre and the world's largest indoor climbing arena.

The competition is free to enter.
