New names for two local enterprise companies

New names for two local enterprise companies
01 July 2005

Two new names feature in the Highlands and Islands Enterprise (HIE) network map from today  (Friday 1 July).

Strategic alterations to the boundaries of two local enterprise companies have resulted in the formation of HIE Moray and Inverness Nairn Badenoch and Strathspey Enterprise (INBSE). They replace Moray Badenoch and Strathspey Enterprise (MBSE) and Inverness and Nairn Enterprise (INE) respectively.

Sandy Cumming, chief executive of HIE, said: "INBSE and HIE Moray have been formed by a simple redrawing of boundaries in response to the changing needs and aspirations of the areas.

"While the names are new, the teams at both LECs bring a wealth of experience, skills and energy to the areas they will be serving."

HIE Moray will be headed by MBSE chief executive Douglas Yule. Stuart Black, chief executive of INE, will continue in that role at INBSE.

Careers Scotland services in Badenoch and Strathspey will be provided from Inverness and Aviemore rather than Moray following the boundary change.
