23 February 2005

Leading Inverness based telecommunications company, HIGHnet, today announced that it is joining forces with Caledonia Broadband. The move will enhance its status in supplying telecommunications, and now a full broadband range of products including a groundbreaking broadband telephony service, to the UK.

Commenting on this, David Siegel, HIGHnet Director said, “I believe we have taken a major step forward in our quest to satisfy customer requirements in a highly sophisticated and demanding market.

“This is an excellent strategic move for us. We’ll be able to broaden our Internet business footprint in the UK and continue the tradition of excellent customer service that HIGHnet customers have come to know and appreciate.”

Mr Siegel continued, “Caledonia Broadband brings with it a wealth of knowledge in the broadband industry, and will be taking control of our broadband department.  The two companies' technical skills, experience, customer base and geographic coverage are all totally complementary in our approach to business and our commitment to customer service.”

Bruce Hosie will continue to serve as Managing Director of Caledonia Broadband, whilst taking up his new position as Sales Director at HIGHnet.  Alongside him will be Callum Watt, who will be taking up his new position as Sales and Marketing Manager. This change will take place on the 1st of March 2005.

“This is a very exciting opportunity for us to bring both established and emerging technologies together.” said Mr Hosie.
