Community website development
20 September 2004

Community groups looking to launch or update a website are being given the opportunity to learn all they need to know through a series of free workshops being held by Inverness and Nairn Enterprise (INE).

The Click and Mix event will take place on Saturday 25th September at The Greenhouse, Inverness, and will give community organisations the chance to see the wide range of website options available to them.

Delegates will be able to select four workshops out of 16 to suit their individual requirements and IT knowledge.

Workshops will cover a wide range of issues including how to produce a web page, how to make an existing website more effective and the basics of search engine promotion.

Marie Mackintosh, head of development at INE, said: "All the workshops are very practical and they offer a choice of subjects which should appeal to everyone from the complete IT beginner through to the more advanced users.

"This will be the third Click and Mix event we have held, following on from two very successful community website development days last year.  Feedback from these has been very positive.

"Community groups are realising just how important a tool a website can be, and they want to ensure that they maximise the impact of their sites. The Click and Mix event is a very good place to start - whether creating a website for the first time or developing an existing site."
