| 20 September 2004 The North of Scotland's annual Food and Drink Festival, Highland Feast, takes place between Thursday 30th September and Sunday 3rd October. This is Highland Feast's fourth year and as always it aims to celebrate the high quality and rich variety of food and drink to be found throughout the Highlands. One of the 41 events taking place is 'Baking in Brora and Dinner with Sue'. On Friday October 1st respected food writer Sue Lawrence will be celebrating the launch of her new 'Book of Baking' with an afternoon of baking in Brora, at the Royal Marine Hotel. Sue will demonstrate a selection of classic home baking recipes, followed by a traditional afternoon tea and the chance for participants to stock up on local produce and signed copies of Sue's book. In the evening, using more of Sue's Scottish recipes, a Festival Banquet will be prepared at the Royal Marine for 100 guests, with the very best of Highland produce. Hospitality students from the UHI North Highland College will serve the exclusive meal, which starts with a Champagne reception, followed by specially selected wines and malt whiskies to complement the Scottish feast. Susan Smith, senior development manager with Caithness and Sutherland Enterprise, who have contributed £3,500 towards the festival, said: "The Highland Food and Drink Festival is a terrific platform on which to promote our rich variety of locally produced food and drink and the hospitality that goes with it. "It's a great opportunity to promote the area as an ideal holiday or short break destination, highlighting our wonderful culture and heritage. The Food Festival is enjoyed by locals and visitors alike and we hope it attracts visitors back to the area in future years."
