Vacancies on the board

Shetland Enterprise is looking to recruit three new board members.

The Local Enterprise Company (LEC) are looking for applications from enthusiastic members of the local community who have experience in community issues and business.

The board is non-executive and provides Shetland Enterprise with strategic advice and guidance as well as making recommendations on larger financial investments.   New board members of Shetland Enterprise are expected to advise on economic and social development to the area.

Shetland Enterprise is one of ten local enterprises within the Highlands and Islands Enterprise (HIE) network.  They are looking to invest in the strategic objectives of Growing Businesses, Developing Skills, Strengthening Communities and Global Connections, which have a total budget of £3.1 million. 

The Chairman of Shetland Enterprise, Brian Isbister, commented on the vacancies by saying: "We will be delighted to hear from anyone in the community who feels they can contribute to the debate on strategic issues relating to the social and economic development at this time of great change in the Shetland economy."

The Shetland Enterprise Board would like to take this opportunity to thank Robert Smith, Gibbie Johnson and David Nicholson for their valued contribution to Shetland Enterprise during their time on the board.
