| Winner @ web regional prize for Plexus Media Ltd | |
| 07 October 2003 Cromarty-based company Plexus Media Ltd has been named regional winner in the prestigious Winners @ Web competition. Taking top spot in the Highlands and Islands Enterprise (HIE) area, Plexus Media was nominated in the 'Best e-Supplier' category. Established in 1997, the company specialises in creating powerful web based software systems as well as offering a wide range of other web design and digital media services. In recent years, they have moved towards providing database-driven 'dynamic' web sites for clients both large and small within the Highlands and across Europe, gaining a growing reputation for the ease-of-use of their website updating systems which allow clients to concentrate on content rather than coding. Local development agency, Ross and Cromarty Enterprise (RACE) recently awarded an e-business grant of £1,800 to Plexus Media to market the company's new small-business content management system, 'Webstarter'. Welcoming the award, David Newman from Plexus Media said: "We are really delighted to receive this award. We have been working for several years developing and growing our business with the aim of providing our many clients with the best service and solutions that we can. It is really nice to have our efforts acknowledged in this way." Congratulating Plexus Media, Calum Davidson - head of HIE's Knowledge Economy team - said: "This is a terrific example of a relatively small company operating from a rural location yet being able to compete successfully on a global playing field. The company is a deserving regional winner." As regional winners, Plexus Media receives prize money totalling £1,000. | |
