| Early bird invited to attend e-business breakfast | |
| 19 November 2002 Businesses throughout Moray, Badenoch and Strathspey have the unique opportunity to quiz two accomplished businessmen about their use of new technologies at an e-business breakfast next week (Friday 29 November). Marc Lewis and Steve Tinsley, both experienced and charismatic speakers, will present 'Future Technologies Just Around the Corner' - a workshop to demonstrate how businesses can tap into advances in new technologies. Marc Lewis is a high-energy presenter who will give an insightful presentation on what it takes to win in business. A successful businessman, he is perhaps best known for the M-Bar-Go project, which uses mobile phones to enable companies to target customers in a revolutionary new way. Steve Tinsley, director with Scotland Electronic International Limited, is the second speaker at the morning event. He has worked with a host of blue-chip organisations and will share his views on how he plans to respond to the fast-moving business environment. The early morning event will take place at the Eight Acres Hotel in Elgin and has been organised by Moray Badenoch and Strathspey Enterprise. The enterprise company has also arranged for FUSION and PICT Innovation Ltd representatives to be on hand to give advice on how they can help take any new ideas forward. Douglas Yule, chief executive of Moray Badenoch and Strathspey Enterprise is keen for as many people to attend as possible: "This workshop is a must for anyone who is keen to find out how new technology can help their business. A recent national e-business survey revealed that businesses in the Highlands and Islands are leading Scotland with their use of web-based technology and we are keen to keep up the momentum. "In the MBSE area alone, 56 per cent of businesses viewed e-business as important to their current operation and we want to make sure they have the tools and know-how to make it work for them. "We are delighted to have been able to attract speakers of this calibre to our event. They are both highly motivational and experienced, and their light-hearted approach should make it an event not to be missed." Anyone interested in attending the event should contact Diane Duncan on 01540 651555. | |
