TENDER TOUCH CREATES COMPETITIVE EDGE
20 November 2001

Businesses throughout Caithness and Sutherland are being given the opportunity to improve their competitive tendering skills in a bid to win thousands of pounds worth of contracts in the north of Scotland.

The workshops, organised by Caithness and Sutherland Enterprise (CASE) will be delivered by CS Tendering Services and aim to train people how to compile comprehensive bids and tenders for standard contracts whilst ensuring both quality and profitability.

The training programme will enable north firms to access business coming into the area via various major public sector contracts, including those associated with the £4 billion decommissioning of UKAEA Dounreay.

Anne Sutherland, head of skills development at CASE said, "Ensuring businesses in our area are aware of all the latest requirements in this critical aspect of business success is essential if they are to take advantage of opportunities which arise. CASE is committed to supporting businesses in their aim to maximise their competitiveness and profitability. We have therefore decided to provide these workshops free of charge to local participants."

The first course, delivered by CS Tendering Services, takes place at the Royal Dornoch Golf Club on Tuesday 27th November. Further information and bookings can be made by phoning Colin Stewart on 0800 917 4158 or e-mailing Colin Stewart
