TV personality and comedian Fred MacAulay presented ten local companies with top business awards, Investors in People at the Tourism Training conference held in the Newton Hotel, Nairn last week (22nd March 2000).

The event was supported by Inverness and Nairn Enterprise, part of the Highlands and Islands Enterprise network. Investors in People recognises a firms commitment to staff development as part of their overall business objectives.

The companies receiving the awards were: Chartered Architects, Colin Armstrong; the video production firm, HCVF; arts development body, HI Arts; travel agents, MacRaes Travel; the web development firm, Nexus db Ltd; printing services, Piccolo Press; the diagnostic research company, Psychiatric Diagnostic Ltd and Shopmobility, who lend mobility aids to people across the region.
