| ENTERPRISE WEBSITE GOES ON-LINE | |
| 29 November 2000 Updated information on the range of support services available to businesses, community groups and individuals from Shetland Enterprise is now available on the Enterprise Company's revised website. The site at www.shetland.hie.co.uk has been launched today (Wednesday, 29 November, 2000). Deputy chief executive at Shetland Enterprise Ann Black said: "The website features examples of some of our recent projects which illustrates the range of assistance we can provide. Our objectives for strengthening communities, developing skills and growing businesses in Shetland are explained along with our priorities for future development. "Details of discretionary assistance which can be provided by Shetland Enterprise is available, together with direct telephone numbers and emails of relevant staff, allowing the people of Shetland to go straight to the most appropriate person for advice. As information technology becomes an increasing part of everyday life, I am confident that more of our services will be delivered by this medium in the future. "The new site is the first phase of an evolving project that will increase awareness of Shetland Enterprise both locally and further afield. It incorporates 'links' to the websites of other organisations and these will be developed further in the future to allow users to tap into a rich source of economic and community information." The website has been developed as part of the Highlands and Islands Enterprise (HIE) site but maintains its own identity and is maintained locally by Shetland Enterprise staff. | |
