BUSINESSES ON-LINE FOR TOP AWARDS
17 April 2000

Two businesses have received top accolades at the Highlands and Islands multi-media 2000 awards, recognising the best use of new media in business.

The award ceremony was held in the Milton Hotel in Fort William (April 7, 2000) and followed the annual Highlands and Islands multi-media conference, which highlights new developments and opportunities in the industry.

The conference was organised by the Interactive Media Alliance of Scotland (IMAS), set up to promote new media in Scotland, in partnership with Lochaber Limited (LLtd), part of the Highlands and Islands Enterprise network.

Sue Cook from IMAS awarded first prize to Gordon Allison from Nexus db Ltd. for the creation of a database-driven knowledge site for the music industry, providing access to information on musicians, bands and venues.

Second place was won by Graham Anderson and Brian Johnson from Toltech Internet Solutions for an on-line electronic marketing brochure. IT development manager for LLtd is Alistar Nicholson.
