Enterprising Britain - the challengeEnterprising Britain competition

The search is on to find a Scottish location to compete for the title of UK Capital of Enterprise 2005. The new competition was launched by Gordon Brown, Chancellor of the Exchequer, and nominations are now being accepted from enterprising cities, towns or areas around Britain.

Broadband for Scotland - Elaine C SmithJim Wallace announces new Broadband grant scheme

The Deputy First Minister, Jim Wallace, announced today that a new Broadband grant scheme has been launched by the Scottish Executive. The announcement came during a visit to Lochgilphead firm, Midton Acrylics. The company benefited from the original satellite Broadband grant scheme and have enjoyed their Broadband connection for over a year. Businesses will be able to apply for the new scheme by online application through the national Broadband for Scotland web site.

Community Energy Projects take off thanks to CEU

The Community Energy Unit (CEU) at Highlands and Islands Enterprise (HIE) has funded 135 projects and spent almost £1 million since its launch in December 2002.
