Hebridean Celtic Festival 2006Community sport and leisure facilities improvements in Lewis

Two ambitious projects to improve sports and community facilities in the Isle of Lewis are set to progress following the confirmation that the final piece of funding is in place. Western Isles Enterprise (WIE) has just approved funding of £73,625 towards the cost of improvements to the community centre facilities in Barvas, and £32,720 to redevelop the games pitch and community and sports facilities at Seaview Knock in Point.

Barrglen Equitation centre, ArgyllArgyll horse centre expands

An Argyll woman is expanding her successful equestrian centre to offer horse riders and enthusiasts in the area a wider range of services. With financial backing from Argyll and the Islands Enterprise (AIE), Fiona McArthur who has operated the Barrglen Equitation Centre for the past eight years is investing in training, upgraded facilities and new equipment.
